🏆 Voted Best Home Builder in Tulsa World’s 2026 Best in the World!

What a Tulsa Parade of Homes Winner Does Differently

The short answer

Cozort Custom Homes is a four-time Tulsa Parade of Homes 1st Place winner (HBA of Greater Tulsa: 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023) and was voted Best Home Builder in Tulsa World's 2026 Best in the World. The standard behind it is simple: take care of your clients, build a quality home, and do what you said you would do.

The Tulsa Parade of Homes, put on by the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa, is where builders open their best work to the public. Winning once is a good year. Winning four times means something is built into how the company works. Here is what that looks like at Cozort, and what you should ask any builder you are considering.

"I'm a third-generation home builder, and what my father and grandfather have taught me is that you always take care of your clients, you make sure that you build a quality home, and you always do what you're supposed to do."

Matt Cozort, President and Owner

1. A family standard, three generations deep

The Cozort family has been building homes since 1968: Calvin, then Russell, then Matt, who has led the business for more than 20 years. Cozort Custom Homes, Inc. was established in 2005 in Bixby. When your name is on the sign and your kids know the neighbors, cutting corners isn't an option.

2. Superintendents on the job site

Brian Marts and Chad Brown run our job sites day to day, and Chad is on site every day. Problems get caught at framing, not at the final walk-through. Ask any builder: who will be on my site every day, and can I meet them?

3. Design that starts with how you live

Parade judges and buyers walk the same house. The homes that win are the ones where every room has a reason. We start from 80+ plans or a fully custom design, with in-house design help, and Angela Cozort leads finishes so the house feels like one piece. How we tailor a plan.

4. The details people notice on a walk-through

Look at The Opal, our 2026 Parade of Homes entry: a scullery off the kitchen, an oversized garage, an outdoor powder bath, a media room, a game room and a formal study on 1.68 gated acres in Broken Arrow. None of it is flash for its own sake. Each one solves an everyday problem.

5. Homeowners who say it out loud

We have 58 Google reviews from real homeowners. One wrote that Cozort "exceeded our expectations at every stage of the process." Another, who had been on site during construction, said "Cozort does things right." Ask any builder: can I read your reviews and talk to a past client?

6. Support after the keys

Every Cozort home comes with the standard HBA one-year warranty book, plus manufacturer warranties on appliances and mechanicals. Ask any builder: what is covered, for how long, and who do I call?

Your checklist for choosing a builder

  • How long have you been building here, and who leads the company?
  • Who runs my job site day to day?
  • Can I tour a finished home you built?
  • What is a realistic timeline? (For Cozort, most custom homes take about 8 to 12 months.)
  • What warranty comes with the home?
  • Can I read reviews and talk to past clients?

Come tour a Cozort home and ask us every one of these. See available homes or meet the team.

7. A superintendent who checks before the walls close

"When I check houses before the drywall guys show up, I look for hangers. I look for insulation in the right places. We also look for all the plumbing and electrical things that are in the walls, just to ensure that we haven't forgotten anything. It's always better to put it behind the wall first than add it later, because touch-ups are always hard."

Ask any builder: who inspects the framing, plumbing and electrical before drywall, and what are they looking for?

8. The same crews, house after house

"The best thing about working for Cozort is they're a third-generation builder. That means the consistency of the guys that show up to each house every day. It's consistent work, doing it the same way, which means fewer warranty issues, and we think through all the problems that could potentially be there."

Buyers never meet most of the people who build their home. At Cozort, those trades have worked with us for years, so the standard doesn't reset with every job.

9. Someone running the schedule every day

"Make sure the project's staying on schedule, the guys are there, we're getting things taken care of, quality is where it needs to be, and we're holding the standard that we want for our homes."

10. Unlimited communication

"With a production builder, let's use tile for instance, you have limited selections. You might have four tile selections, when we have unlimited tile selections. You also have unlimited communication with us. Sometimes with a production builder, you might only be able to email five or ten times through the whole build."

Ask any builder: how do I reach you during the build, and how often?

What the Parade of Homes is, and why it matters to you

Each year, the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa puts on the Parade of Homes. Builders enter finished homes, and the public walks through them. It is one of the few times you can compare builders side by side, in person, on the same weekend. Our 2026 entry is The Opal in Broken Arrow.

How to tour a Parade home like a builder

  • Look past the staging. Furniture sells the room. Trim, tile lines, caulk and paint tell you about the builder.
  • Open the doors. Closets, pantries and the garage show how a builder handles the rooms nobody photographs.
  • Go outside. Check grading, drainage, the patio and how the house sits on the lot.
  • Talk to the people. Ask who ran the job and how long the crews have worked together.
  • Ask about after the sale. What warranty comes with it, and who answers the phone?

Awards are the result, not the goal

We are proud of four Parade 1st Place wins and of being voted Best Home Builder in Tulsa World's 2026 Best in the World. But the real scorecard is the family that moves in and calls us a year later to say the house still feels right. That is what three generations of Cozort builders have been working toward since 1968.
