The short answer
In Owasso, Cozort Custom Homes builds in The Coves at Stone Canyon, a gated lakeside community with walking trails in Owasso Public Schools. Two finished Cozort homes there, The Erin and The Durant, let you compare floor plans in the same neighborhood. We also build fully custom on your own lot anywhere in the Owasso area.
Owasso buyers usually want a few things: room to breathe, good schools and an easy drive into Tulsa. Here is what building or buying new with Cozort in Owasso looks like.
The Coves at Stone Canyon
| Setting | Gated, lakeside, walking trails |
|---|---|
| Schools | Owasso Public Schools |
| Cozort homes to tour | The Erin and The Durant |
| Build options | Move-in ready now, or fully custom on your lot |
The best part of The Coves for a buyer is that you can tour two finished Cozort homes on the same streets. You get to compare layouts, sizes and finishes side by side.
Two Cozort homes, two different ways to live
The Erin
4 bedrooms, 4 baths, 3,894 sq ft at 6275 N Quail Cove Cir. It has generous space without going oversized. Tour The Erin.
The Durant
4 bedrooms, 4 full and 1 half bath, 5,057 sq ft. It is a lot more house for families who entertain or need every room. Tour The Durant.
Walk both, and you will know pretty quickly whether you're an Erin family or a Durant family. If neither one fits, that tells us what to build for you.

Owasso vs. building closer to Bixby
Our office and most of our communities are in Bixby, south of Tulsa. Owasso sits on the north side of the metro. If your work, church or family is up north, Owasso makes sense. If you are flexible, read our Bixby building guide and compare.
Same team, wherever you build
Owasso homes are built by the same people who build in Bixby: superintendents Brian Marts and Chad Brown, Angela Cozort on design and finishes, and Matt Cozort leading the company. That is the team behind four Tulsa Parade of Homes 1st Place wins.
"I'm a third-generation home builder, and what my father and grandfather have taught me is that you always take care of your clients, you make sure that you build a quality home, and you always do what you're supposed to do."

Is Owasso the right fit for you?
"Where you live or choose to live in and around Tulsa is a very individual decision, and it depends on what is important to you and your family. School district or sports? Do you like to live in a rural area on a larger lot? Are you okay closer to the city on a standard size lot? How close do you need to be to highways to get to work? All those questions determine what area of Tulsa is best suited for you."
Angela Cozort, Realtor and Design
For many families, Owasso checks the boxes: Owasso Public Schools, easy highway access to north Tulsa and the airport, and lakeside living in The Coves at Stone Canyon. If you need acreage, or your life is centered south of town, Bixby or Broken Arrow may suit you better.
Building on your own land around Owasso
"Cozort Custom Homes builds on people's land all over the Tulsa Metro area. It's something that we specialize in. If you want us to help you find land, we can also do that. We're actually very good at doing that."
Matt Cozort, President and Owner
- Send us the address or parcel before you buy.
- We walk it with you and look at access, utilities and how the house would sit.
- Then pick a plan, modify one or design custom with our preferred architect.

Moving from out of state?
Many Owasso buyers are relocating for work. Angela books and attends design appointments, and you can reach us anytime during the build. You don't need to live here to build here. Call (918) 364-5215 and we will set up a plan that works from wherever you are.
Have a home to sell first?
"If a buyer wants to build a custom home but has a home to sell, they need to get with a lender and determine if they can build a custom home without a contingency."
Angela Cozort, Realtor and Design
Angela can list your current home, and many buyers work with Megan Neely at AMC Mortgage. You are welcome to use any lender.
The crews behind every Owasso home
"The best thing about working for Cozort is they're a third-generation builder. That means the consistency of the guys that show up to each house every day. It's consistent work, doing it the same way, which means fewer warranty issues, and we think through all the problems that could potentially be there."

Erin vs. Durant: how to compare on a tour
| The Erin · The Durant | |
| Size | 3,894 sq ft · 5,057 sq ft |
| Bedrooms | 4 · 4 |
| Baths | 4 · 4 full, 1 half |
| Best for | Families who want room without excess · Families who host or need every room |
Walk both on the same day. Pay attention to the kitchen, the flow from the living room to the patio and the size of the garage. Those three tell you more than square footage does.
Buying new construction vs. resale in Owasso
- Everything is new: roof, mechanicals and appliances, with the HBA one-year warranty book and manufacturer warranties.
- Modern layouts: open kitchens, sculleries, media rooms and real storage.
- Known builder: you can meet the people who built it and ask them questions.
What to ask about any Owasso lot or community
- Which school district is the exact address in?
- What do the HOA dues cover, and what are the rules on fences and outbuildings?
- Where do utilities come in, and is there a gas line?
- How does the lot drain?
- Is there room for a pool or shop later?
We will help you answer every one of these before you commit.
